The article does mention that The Philipines, Paraguay and Chile are interested in these planes, and that Taiwan would need approval from the US in order to sell these planes to a 3rd country.

Mexico already operates this type of aircraft so I guess this makes a deal more likely, unfortunately a chance for more Corsair ’s would mean a less chance to see S-211 ’s in the Mexican military.

    F2-G SUPER CORSAIR aircrafts.. PAF

Using experience from building the fixed-wing FG-1, a version of the folding wing F4U-1 Corsair, Goodyear extensively modified a standard FG-1 airframe, designated the XF2G-1, to take advantage of the 50% increase in take-off power provided by the R-4360 engine. In addition, an all-round vision bubble-type canopy was installed. In March 1944, Goodyear was awarded a contract to deliver 418 F2G-1 and 10 F2G-2 aircraft. The F2G-2 version included modifications for carrier operations.

Armament provisions included alternative wing-mounted installations for four or six 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) machine guns and eight 5 inch (127 mm) rockets or two 1,000 or 1,600 lb (450 or 725 kg) bombs. The internal fuel capacity was increased greatly over that of the FG-1, and provisions were provided to carry two droppable external tanks.

“But the potential sale of 66 F-16C/Ds to Taiwan has hit a hurdle, with the country’s defence minister saying the US government has suspended the deal because the Taipei parliament failed to approve the budget for a previous US arms package.

The earlier deal, which included Lockheed P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft and Raytheon/Lockheed Patriot PAC-3 surface-to-air missile systems first offered in 2001, is embroiled in a political wrangle, and the defence minister says Washington will only agree to sell F-16s after Taipei passes the special budget.”

But a Taiwanese F-5E deal with Mexico might go ahead if this news report is borne out by events…..

The Armored Recovery Vehicle is an armored, all terrain, amphibious, air transportable and highly maneuverable vehicle. It is fitted with a hydraulic crane mounted to the vehicle top plate and a recovery winch mounted inside the vehicle that facilitates the recovery and towing of both armored and transport vehicles during actual combat and under enemy fire. It is equipped with a pintle-mounted .50 caliber heavy machine gun and a bank of electrically operated smoke grenade launchers for its self-protection. In addition to these features, the ARV has air conditioning and Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) protection system

based on the M4A3 medium tank,[2] it was developed to cope with the heavier M26 Pershing and M47 Patton which were entering service,[3] which the M32 was unable to retrieve. Using the standard Ford GAA[4] and wide tracks,[5] the chassis would be rebuilt.[6] It was fitted with a 90,000 lb (41,000 kg) hydraulic winch as well as a lighter-duty general purpose one,[7] a hydraulic A-frame,[8] and hydraulic front-mounted spade, which was suitable for light dozing,[9] as well as serving as an anchor for heavy winching operations.[10]
